On SUNDAY, 14TH July, there is an invitation to join us on a SSIF trip to St. Milburga’s Roman Catholic Church in Church Stretton where we can see inside the Church before enjoying a picnic in the grounds . We thank Canon Jonathan Mitchell for permitting us to meet there. We start at 2.30pm and don’t forget to bring something to sit on and you picnic tea to enjoy after our visit to the Church. At 6pm the Church holds a Taize service which some may wish to attend.

Stokesay: St John the Baptist

The Church of Saint John the Baptist: founded in the 12th century, rebuilt in the 17th century.  Serving God and the community of Craven Arms into the 21st century.

Our church stands in a glorious setting amongst the hills of south Shropshire, adjacent to Stokesay Castle, one of the jewels of English Heritage's crown.  We aim to keep the church open for visitors to enjoy in line with the opening hours of the castle.

Sunday services of Holy Communion are held at the Pilgrim Centre in Dale Street, Craven Arms on First and Third Sundays of the month at 8.00am.  On the Second and Fourth Sundays, the service of Holy Communion with Hymns is held at Stokesay at 9.45am (during the winter months, these services are held at the Pilgrim Centre).  The Fifth Sunday is a joint Benefice service - see service poster in Notices section for details).
