Occurring
for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue Address
Moccas: St Michael & All Angels, Moccas Hereford, HR2 9LH, United Kingdom
On August 15th, you are again invited to a spectacularly beautiful summer evening of a varied selection of Gregorian Chant, some items accompanied by the Moccas organ, sung by the monks of Belmont Abbey, this time with some audience participation. It will be preceded by delicious tea and cakes in Moccas Village Hall.

The timing is especially chosen to coincide with a three-day reprise of the extraordinary five day river voyage in August 2022 of a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of the Waters and the Wye, which was rowed by canoe catamaran from Hay to Monmouth, in order to raise awareness about the pollution of the Wye and call for concerted action before it is too late.

On this occasion, the statue will arrive at Bredwardine Bridge at 4pm on 15th August, and hence the statue will be
transported to Moccas Church around 6.15 in time for the Gregorian Chant at 6.30 pm. Seats are free for the Gregorian Chant, but we welcome donations to Moccas Church.
Preceded by Tea, sandwiches and Cake in Moccas Village Hall 5pm to 6pm
Tickets £10 for tea, sandwiches and cake are available from
Rachel Jenkins [email protected] or 01981 500 726
For those interested to follow the voyage over the following two days, there will be 5.30pm evensong at Hereford Cathedral on 16th and 5.30pm evensong at Hoarwithy Church on 17th.
