About Us

St Peter and St Paul's is an ancient church, substantially renovated in the mid 1800s that sits atop a mound in the small hamlet of Sheinton.  It is situated in and area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) on the most northern end of the Shropshire Hills AONB.

It is the site of the graves of the Rev Benjamin Bailey and his wife Elizabeth who were Missionaries in Kerala, South India for over 40 years.  There, Rev Bailey oversaw translation of the Bible into Malayalam, set up a printing press for Malayalam texts and started the CMS College in Kottayam.  He served his last years as Rector in Sheinton.
