Each August, St Andrew’s hosts the majority of the concerts in the Presteigne Festival, and this service on the Sunday of the festival weekend is always a very special occasion. This year the music will be led by the Choir of King’s College, London, with their conductor Joseph Fort. The organist will be Charles Maxtone-Smith, who was recently one of the eight semi-finalists in the interpretation category of the St Albans International Organ Competition. The communion service setting will be the Missa Brevis by Thomas Hyde, receiving its world premiere, and music will also include Love endureth by Roxanna Panufnik and excerpts from Rachmaninov’s Vespers. Everyone is very welcome to attend this service.
