Services in the Presteigne Group of Parishes on Sunday 5 June – which is both Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration Sunday and the Feast of the Pentecost – are as follows:
8.00 Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer: traditional language) Presteigne
11.00 Jubilee Festival Service Presteigne
4.00 Jubilee Evening Prayer (Book of Common Prayer: traditional language) Lingen
Everyone is very welcome to join us for any of these services. Most of the restrictions on worship imposed in response to the pandemic have now been relaxed in both our English and our Welsh churches, although we would ask everyone to be aware of the needs of those who may still feel vulnerable, and observe a measure of social distancing when moving around the church. The wearing of masks during services is now optional and singing is warmly encouraged.
HOWEVER we have one request as a result of the easing of restrictions, which is that you should not come to church if you have any Covid-like symptoms at all. We are very sorry to discourage anyone who wishes to join us for our services, but we feel this is the best way to protect everyone in the community while the virus is still a threat.
If you are unable to join us in person, you can find a Serrvice for Use at Home on Pentecost elsewhere on this page. It includes a thanksgiving prayer for the Queen's Jubilee.
