After three years of delay and uncertainties complex repair work on the tower is now complete. Following evidence of a leak in the tower roof investigation revealed that the main supporting beam was rotten. Major strengthening work and rebuilding was necessary including the replacement of roof lead and renovation of the weather vane. Bell ringing had to be suspended throughout the period of work. We were honoured on the 7th October with a thanksgiving service lead by Bishop Richard Jackson celebrating not only the completion of the work but also the resumption of bell ringing and dedication of two memorial plaques to late benefactors who had contributed greatly to costs enabling this and much other work to be completed
