St Michael's is a former Augustinian priory, parish church for the small village of Chirbury, just over the border from Wales into Shropshire. Our church is open each day for visitors and as a quiet sacred space.
Please Take Care - these are the rules that apply to all our services during the present situation :-
As far as possible avoid touching door furniture and other surfaces as you enter and leave the church, and make use of the hand gel provided. If you should show symptoms of Covid
within the week following attending a service, or are tested and found to have
contracted the disease, please inform us straight away by contacting
either Revd Bill or a church warden. If we take care, we can make sure
our churches remain safe spaces.
The parish of Chirbury is committed to the
safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow
the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish
Safeguarding Officer or PSO. The Diocese of Hereford’s safeguarding pages
contain vital links and information including contacts for the
Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are
concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk
of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns
about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your
local authority Children or Adult Services.
