About Us
Boraston Church is one of two medieval Listed churches in the ecclesiastical parish of Nash & Boraston in South Shropshire - the other one is St John the Baptist, Nash. We are part of the Tenbury Team Ministry.
Boraston Church is a Grade 2 Listed church, which is unusual because there is no saint's dedication. It lies within the Conservation Area at the heart of Boraston Village (WR15 8LH). The nave is medieval with Norman origins, and the chancel and tower and spire were added as part of a major restoration in the 1880s. The building is noted for its cedar shingles and lych gate. It is surrounded by a large churchyard which is managed to 'Caring For God's Acre' guidelines, and which contains several impressive mature trees including an atlas cedar and a golden yew.
The parish of Nash and Boraston holds a variety of community social events, including an annual Plant Sale at St John the Baptist Nash in May, a Strawberry Tea in late June / early July and a Christmas Coffee Morning in early December. The Churchwarden is Mrs Bobbie Matulja.
