Thank you very much to all who have sponsored the tower lighting. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support. Now that the lighting is up and shining out it provides a most welcome and cheering sight each evening. The east wall behind the altar has also been lit as part of this event. The Church remains open longer (until 6.30pm) each evening until Christmas Eve. Between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day the church will be locked around dusk. Later opening will resume after New Year's Day until the end of the lighting. This gives the chance to visit and see the lighting and the sponsorship book and to stay a while if you can. If anybody would like the Church to be open later than 6:30pm please let us know and we can readily make arrangements. There are 'help-yourself' refreshments so please use and enjoy them. A reminder that on 4th February 2023, the final night, the lights will shine in solidarity with the people of Ukraine. Proceeds from this evening will be for the support of the refugees living with us in our community, so donations for the evening are most welcome. Please leave a donation in the box which will appear in church shortly, or contact Sue Hack at sue@peasgreen.co.uk to make a donation. Thank you.
After consultation, we have decided to continue meeting for evening worship on the first and third Sundays of the month. The service on the first Sunday will be a traditional service of Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer, with hymns and sung responses led by a member of the clergy and our choir. The service on the third Sunday will be a quieter, more reflective service, with said responses and no choir. When the clocks revert to Greenwich Mean Time, our services will be held at 4pm, and at 6pm during British Summer Time. In practical terms, our services will be held at 4pm from November - March, and 6pm from April - October.
