Lammas: St Andrew

Welcome to our church page. We offer a traditional service using the Book of Common Prayer. Our service of Holy Communion is said and our Evening Prayer service is sung with hymns.

We are positioned alongside the River Bure which provides a beautiful setting and an attraction for weddings and events. The Church building is medieval with Victorian restoration. It is built of flint with limestone facings and a timber and tiled roof. The noticeable feature is the ‘weep’ on the chancel of about 15 degrees out of true.

The tower has a fine set of five bells which are regularly rung on Sundays, and practice nights one Wednesday per month. Our band of ringers also ring at Buxton and Marsham. If you want to learn how to ring church bells, or find out more, please visit their website: https://burevalleybellringers.org.uk/

To find us on The Street, NR10 5AF (we are tucked away), turn in to the drive with the iron gates by the post box.

Please note that unfortunately we do not have toilet facilities.

We hope to see you at one of our services or perhaps you just want to visit this lovely place.

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and we have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
