In May 2016 we were well on the way towards planning the replacement of the lead roof on the chancel when lead from the north aisle was stolen, allowing water to put in through the roof. Many came to clean up the church, and the work was added to an already full programme in the chancel. Although much of this work was funded through grants from the government's Licensed Places of Worship Scheme, the Allchurches Trust, the Norfolk Churches Trust and the Diocese, we were very grateful for extra support from people in the village to ensure that all the work could be completed. It was done to a very high standard by Pikestaff, our contractors, and the church re-opened at a group Thanksgiving Service on September 30th, 2018.
