A traditional devotion, following the Abbey's famously beautiful icon Stations
Half an hour of praying with scripture, using the Benedictine monastic discipline of 'lectio divina'. Followed by Hot chocolate and fruit loaf.
We meet in the churchyard for the Ceremony of Palms, then process with two donkeys into church

The monastic end to the day: a gentle service, sung in plainsong, and with an Address.

Sung Eucharist with the Reception of the Holy Oils, Footwashing, Procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the Altar of Repose and Watch until midnight
Followed by hot cross buns
Reading of the Passion, Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion (pre-sanctified)
A sequence of meditations interspersed with the Haydn 'Seven Last Words' played by the Cavick String Quartet.
