Garvestone St Margaret

You are very welcome to our medieval church of St Margaret in Garvestone. The Church lies on the main road at the edge of the village near the school and village hall. Parking is available on the road outside the church, and in the village hall car park. In winter bring a torch as there are no street lights. The church has no toilet unfortunately. Refreshments are usually served after services, which are usually on the third Sunday of each month at 11am. We keep our church open for visitors as it remains an important centre of village life as it has done for nearly 1000 years.

St Margaret's Church has been part of the Christian worship, prayer and praise to God in Garvestone for nearly 1000 years. Now part of the Barnham Broom and Upper Yare Team of Parishes, a Group of 13 parishes with 15 churches (Groupof15), we continue to be dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving our community

If you would like to financially help us in our work of service to the community and the upkeep of our medieval church, you can donate through our website www.groupof15.org.uk or give through DONATE at

Safeguarding

Our parish of Garvestone St Margaret is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO at [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor on 01603 882345 [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
