Sometimes our greatest challenge is noticing where God is
and has been at work in our lives. St Peter's is delighted to offer the 'Being With' course this year. Established by Revs. Samuel Wells and Sally Hitchiner from St Martin in the Fields, this course offers a fresh way to explore Christian faith. Rather than focusing on academic Bible study or unpacking years of doctrine, the 'Being With' course works on the basis that all of us have already had a wealth of experience of God's presence in our lives. Through topics such as: meaning, Jesus, sacrifice, church and the cross we'll explore where God moves in our lives and everyday experiences. In this course how you feel is just as important as what you think. It's about sharing our stories and listening to the stories of others. It doesn't matter where you are in your journey of faith. From decades of devoted discipleship to those who just have questions, all are welcome. The course will run at St Peter's on Tuesday evenings for 10 weeks, beginning on October 1st at 7:30pm. Refreshments will be available from 7pm. If you would like to join us, or ask for more information then please get in touch with our office, by email or phone:
[email protected] or 01263 820040.

The first concert of the choir's 2024-2025 season is a celebration of music by both Haydn and Handel. It will also feature a 21st Century Benedicite by Yorkshire composer Tim Knight.
Missa Sancti Nicolai, Mass No. 6 in G major, also known as the Nicolaimesse, is a mass by Joseph Haydn, composed around 1772 and revised in 1802.
The Foundling Hospital Anthem, also known by its longer title “Blessed are they that considereth the poor” is a choral anthem composed by George Frideric Handel in 1749. It was written for the Foundling Hospital in London and was first performed in the chapel there. Composed 10 years before his death, it was Handel’s last piece of English church music.
The Benedicite by Tim Kight was written in 2014 for the fifth anniversary of the Masterworks Chorale. This short work sets the cheerful text of the Morning Canticle. It has received performances both sides of the Atlantic.
Directed by David Ballard and accompanied by a Chamber Ensemble and organist Philip Adams, the choir will be joined by four very fine soloists: Jodie Wiggins – soprano; Eve Garrard – alto;
Daniel Bartlette – tenor; and Alex Bower Brown – bass.
