Walkingham Hill Benefice - Parishes of Arkendale, Copgrove, Farnham, Staveley & Scotton - North Yorkshire
Welcome United Benefice of Walkingham Hill - St Bartholomew Arkendale, St Michael & All Angels Copgrove, St Oswald Farnham, All Saints Staveley & St Thomas Scotton.
Why is it called Walkingham Hill? When the five parishes came together as a benefice, we wanted a name that was both unifying and concise. After much research in the archives, we discovered that Walkingham Hill, a settlement recorded in the Domesday Book, is centrally located among the villages. As it is not tied to any specific parish or denomination, it was chosen to represent the benefice.

Safeguarding
The Benefice of Walkingham Hill is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) for each of our Parishes. Our Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Benefice Safeguarding Representative Meriel Best 01423 340346 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor Narinda Lyon 0113 353 0256. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
