You are welcome to join in by booking a place, at £10 per head, and pledging to contribute a fundraising amount to the church of your choice (suggested target between £50 and £100). This to be donated after the walk.
Please book your place online here: https://bit.ly/baywalk2025.
Book early! Places are strictly limited.
Once we have received confirmation of your booking we will email you joining instructions including a sponsorship form and a full set of guidelines from the Guide over Sands organisers. Here are some extracts from the guidelines:
All are welcome to join a bay walk, however you must be able to walk at least 8 miles at ease, and be in good health. It isn’t recommended for children under the age of 5 to join a walk unless being carried all the way by their parent / guardian.
We recommend wearing a pair of comfortable trainers or walking boots, as the headland terrain is rocky, muddy, sandy and wet. We strongly advise walkers to be barefoot on the sands.
Dogs are allowed on the walk, to be kept under control at all times, and on a lead if likely to chase birds.
There are two ways to get to Arnside before a walk: drive to Arnside, park at Arnside on the front which is free parking, then after the walk catch the train back to Arnside for your car; or: drive to Grange, park at Grange (various locations) then catch the train to Arnside.
