The Parish of West Buckrose

The Parish of West Buckrose is a united parish comprising 8 village churches in the countryside near Malton in North Yorkshire. Our Churches are St John the Baptist Acklam, St Mary Birdsall, All Saints Burythorpe, St Andrew Langton, The Venerable Bede Leavening, St Nicholas North Grimston, All Saints Settrington and St Mary Westow.

Everyone is welcome to join us in our worship, and we offer a wide variety of services, from modern-style All-Age Worship to more traditional Eucharists as well as occasional Evensong and Matins. We are friendly and approachable, and our churches are an important element within our close-knit village communities. We also recognise our responsibilities as part of the wider Anglican church.

The parish of West Buckrose is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
