St Mary's, Woodbridge with Great Bealings
A United Benefice incorporating St Mary's Woodbridge and St Mary's Great Bealings, marked (as a new United Benefice) by the planting of a tree in each of our churchyards on the Feast of the Annunciation in March 2021.
We are part of the Church of England and we are in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. St Mary's Woodbridge is a beautiful, Grade 1 listed building, with a history dating back almost 600 years, and the United Benefice has strong connections with the Seckford family.
In Woodbridge there is Thomas Seckford's tomb, the Abbey House, the Shire Hall built by Thomas Seckford in 1578, Seckford Almshouses, and in Great Bealings are the Seckford Memorial and the Tudor-brick Seckford porch.
