Constable Country Benefice

Constable Country Benefice is a new benefice of four churches created in June 2023 of St Marys' in Bentley, East Bergholt and Tattingstone and St Michael's in Brantham.  We are still awaiting the new benefice legalities to be formalised so at the moment it is not possible to properly link the churches at Bentley and Tattingstone, which are still listed with their former benefice North Samford

They are busy places of worship and in their different ways provide a tranquil place for reflection and an atmospheric place for celebration and worship. The churches at Brantham and East Bergholt are open every day and anyone is welcome at any of our services.

Our churches

Safeguarding

Our Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and each church has its own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [email protected]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
