Church yards are sacred ground, a place to lay our loved ones to rest in God's care. 

All three of our churches have an open church yard; St Mary's, Aspenden, St Mary the Virgin, Westmill and Layston Churchyard for St Peter's Church, Buntingford. We are very grateful to the team of volunteers to maintain the grounds at Westmill and Aspenden.

The church yards are open for burials and interments of ashes for those who were residents of the parish or were a regular members of the worshipping community of the parish church. To see the parish boundaries, please type your postcode into the search bar on this website, A Church Near You.  

Westmill and Aspenden are open for full burials or for an interment of ashes. Layston church yard is only open for an interment of ashes. For all three church yards, a burial or interment into an existing family grave is permitted.
