The Parish of The Good Shepherd

WELCOME and THANK YOU for visiting these pages!

We are a welcoming and inclusive Christian community built on the understanding that God accepts us equally and believing that God calls us equally to share that unconditional love with all people, without exception.

Ashton is served by the churches of St Gabriel, St Michael and All Angels, St James, St Peter and Holy Trinity.

We seek to serve the whole community of the centre of Ashton and we're always pleased to hear from you - especially for baptisms, weddings and funerals.

We are proud of our heritage of prayer, welcome and service to our community, and our Church of England Primary Schools - The Parochial CofE Primary School,, St James CofE Primary School, Hurst Knoll St James CofE Primary School, St Peter CofE Primary School and Holy Trinity CofE Primary School.

Safeguarding

Our Parish is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We adopted the House of Bishops ‘Promoting a Safer Church; safeguarding policy statement’, follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Co-ordinatoOfficer (PSO). Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor - see the contact list below.
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
