Reflection from the Rectory – Finding the real Sabbath Together

It is August and Summer finally seems to have arrived. July has been a particularly busy period; hence the newsletter is a little late, sorry. We have held all of our PCC meetings, welcoming new PCC members as we seek to continue God’s mission in our Benefice. There have been lots of children’s activities and visits to the churches, more of that below. I plan to observe a Sabbath August, a time of reflection and refreshment, not just for me, I want to encourage all of us to take some time. I encourage us all to really think about the Sabbath and how we keep it. We need to set aside time for ourselves, to recover and reset, ready for the next chapter in our lives together as people of God. If we are tired all the time then we are not able to give of our best. So take this time to have a real time of Sabbath, praying, reading the scriptures and seeking to hear God’s voice and what he is asking each of us to do next. With every blessing. Reverend Al.
