The Burgh and Wainfleet Groups of Churches (Previously Burgh Group)

We are locally known as 'The Society Parishes' as far as naming our Local Mission Partnership goes. We are, in the main, an Anglo Catholic Group of churches using modern Western Rites. We receive episcopal care from the Bishop of Richborough.

We are made up of CE churches in Burgh, Welton le Marsh, Orby, Gunby, Irby, Bratoft, S Mary Wainfleet, All Saints Wainfleet, Croft, and Thorpe St Peter. A legal process to make Burgh and Wainfleet one group of churches is currently going through and should be completed in 2024.

Please contact Fr Aiden Edwards (01754 450815) the Priest in Charge concerning arrangements for Baptism, Banns, Confession (Reconciliation), Funerals, Anointing the sick and the Dying (Last Rites). Mass times across the group are published on the week sheet which we call ‘The Messenger’ which is on our church notice boards, social media channels and this website under 'News and Notices'.

Come and join us for beautiful and reverent worship. We make no secret of our Anglo-Catholic tradition. We also make no secret of God’s love for you!

What's on

Burgh Church Family Mass

Occurring
Monthly. Every First Sunday at for 1 hour
Venue
St Peter & St Paul
Address
High Street Burgh-le-Marsh Skegness, PE24 5JS, United Kingdom

Simpler worship with words, readings and prayers in children's language. The sermon gets replaced with a children's talk and the hymns are more familiar ones we remember from our school days! Refreshments after Mass in our new 'comfy area'. Accessible loo in church. Less formal worship which starts later at 10am to help give parents more time to get ready for church which isn't always easy with little ones to get dressed and get out the house!
