Welcome to The Asterby Group, as we are informally known. We are a group of historic Church of England communities nestled in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. We are places of worship, fellowship, and warm welcome, rooted in centuries of tradition yet seeking to actively serve the needs of our modern villages. Whether you’re seeking spiritual nourishment, a quiet space for reflection, or simply looking to connect with a friendly, supportive group of people, we invite you to step through our ancient doors. Some of our churches hold services every month and there is some travelling between them by parishioners. St Andrew's in Donington on Bain, St Helen's in Burgh on Bain and St Martin's in Scamblesby holding services at least monthly, some services being communion services (at least one per month). All Saints' in Goulceby and St Julian's in Benniworth hold services every second month, and St Peter's in Gayton Le Wold, St German's in Ranby and St Nicolas's in Stenigot are known as festival churches, holding services mainly at Easter, Christmas and Harvest.
All our churches are available for weddings, baptisms and funerals.
The parish is committed to the safeguarding of children young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishop's guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer ( PSO) The Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocese Safeguarding Advisor ( (DSA) who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Diocese DSA or me. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your Local Authority Child or Adult Services.
