The Deanery Service at Alstonfield on Sunday 2nd March is “A Celebration of a New Ministry” and is to mark a new direction in the life of our Deanery as a Mission Area within the Diocese of Lichfield.

We will be welcoming a new Vicar to the Team: The Revd Patrick Griffin and extending the Ministry of the other Clergy so that they will be licensed to take services at any Church in the Deanery.

This will enable us to operate as a Ministry Team for the foreseeable future and with support of retired clergy, readers and other licensed ministers will be able to offer a flexible leadership team across the whole Deanery.

In detail this will involve the following:

The installation and induction of the Revd Patrick Griffin as Vicar of Alstonefield, Ilam and Wetton, also to be licensed as Assistant Curate of Butterton, Ipstones-with-Berkhamsytch and Onecote-with-Bradnop and Calton, Cauldon, Grindon, Waterfall and Blore Ray-with-Okeover and Longnor, Quarnford, Sheen and Warslow-with-Elkstones

With the Rev’d Preb John Charles Baines as Assistant Curate of Curate of Butterton, Ipstones-with-Berkhamsytch and Onecote-with-Bradnop and Calton, Cauldon, Grindon, Waterfall and Blore Ray-with-Okeover and Alstonefield, Ilam, and Wetton

With the Revd Catherine Jane Held to be licensed as Assistant Curate of Calton, Cauldon, Grindon, Waterfall and Blore Ray-with-Okeover and Longnor, Quarnford, Sheen and Warslow-with-Elkstones and Alstonefield, Ilam, and Wetton
