Billingham Team Parish

Billingham Team Parish is a Church of England parish in the Diocese of Durham, covering the area of Billingham, Wolviston, The Clarences, Cowpen Bewley, Newton Bewley and the Seal Sands Industrial Estate. We work for the good of the whole parish from church centres at St Aidan's, St Cuthbert's, St Luke's and St Peter's Wolviston.

The parish is in a big period of change at the moment, and we'll be posting regularly to keep you in the picture, and maybe inspire you to be a part of the changes.

We'd really love to connect with you, so please contact the church office or one of the clergy if we can help in any way.

A service in appreciation of the life and work of Timothy Dudley-Smith

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St Aidan's Billingham
Address
Tintern Avenue Billingham, TS23 2DF, United Kingdom

Back in mid August, we mourned the passing of Bishop Timothy Dudley-Smith, one of the truly great modern hymn writers in the Anglican tradition. At the time, one comment was “We give thanks for all that he contributed to the worship of the church through his hymn writing, and his ministry”.

While on her September break, one of our readers, Jean Melrose, was inspired to put together a wonderful service that includes some of his very best known hymns—yes, including Tell out my soul—video clips of him speaking, some really good readings, and all in a really prayerful framework.

Don’t miss this service—put it in your diary now. It will be at St Aidan’s so that we can see and hear the clips well, but in a pretty recognisable Anglican traditional format!!
