About Us

St. Margaret's is an Anglican parish church to which everyone is warmly welcome. The church building itself dates back to as far as 1183. In terms of our worship and belief, St Margaret’s is in the evangelical tradition - we have confidence in the Bible to tell us the truth about God, our world, and ourselves. We exist to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the people of our town, to help each person discover the amazing things He has done and come into a life-changing, worshipping relationship with him. Our main service at 10:15 on a Sunday morning is the best route into church life for most people. We aim to make the service as accessible and relevant as possible to people of all ages and all stages of faith and understanding.
