North Westmorland Benefice

We are a group of churches which includes the parishes of Askham and Lowther, Bampton, Bolton, Clifton & Brougham, Morland (including Cliburn and Thrimby), Crosby Ravensworth, Great Strickland and Shap.

The two closed churches of St Wilfrid and St Ninian, both in the parish of Clifton and Brougham, but now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, are within our boundaries and we hold occasional services there.

Safeguarding

Our churches are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Safeguarding team, as well as Parish Safeguarding Officers assigned to each parish. Further information and contacts can be found on our safeguarding page, accessible via the button below. You will also find there links to our Diocese’s Safeguarding Advisor who advises us, links, information and relevant contacts. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed, or may be at risk of harm, please contact our safeguarding team or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
