North Westmorland Churches

We are a group of churches which includes the parishes of Askham and Lowther, Bampton, Bolton, Clifton & Brougham, Morland (including Cliburn and Thrimby), Crosby Ravensworth, Great Strickland and Shap.

The two closed churches of St Wilfrid and St Ninian, both in the parish of Clifton and Brougham, but now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, are within our boundaries and we hold occasional services there.

Safeguarding

Our Benefice is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Benefice Safeguarding Officer as well as a Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO) in each parish. Our Diocese’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
