On Sunday December 22nd we mark the fourth Sunday in Advent at our 9 a.m. Holy Communion Service at Lamplugh, and our All Age Communion Service at 11 a.m. at Kirkland. Then at 6.30 p.m. we have our Carol Service at Lamplugh: lots of carols and a variety of readings between them to let folk get their breath back.
On Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24th December) we have our Crib Service at Kirkland at 3 p.m. Suitable for even the youngest children, this is ideal for distracting little ones who 'can't wait' for Christmas to come. There may be an impromptu Nativity Play, so if you have any suitable costumes or props, bring them along. But everyone can be involved, with or without a costume.
Later, at 11.30 p.m., at Lamplugh we have our Midnight Holy Communion Service. We'll sing some of the carols which are very suited to night time services, and welcome in Christmas Day with bread and wine.
On Christmas Day we have just one service. It's at 10 a.m. at Ennerdale. It's a Communion Service, but slightly less formal than the midnight one, with a short talk instead of a sermon.
