Safeguarding

The churches within the Benefice of Ilminster and Whitelackington are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Safeguarding Officer(s). The Diocese of Bath & Wells’ safeguarding webpages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

We require all of our church volunteers to complete safer recruitment checks and training to ensure the safety of all who engage with our activities.

If you have a safeguarding concern, you can email our Safeguarding Officers, Sarah and Norma.

If you, or someone else, is at risk of immediate harm, please call 999.
