Cropredy: St Mary the Virgin

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is a magnificent, mainly 14C, church, which lies at the heart of the village of Cropredy. The church has a fine pre-Reformation lectern, a Doom painting of national significance, beautiful stained glass, and a lady chapel dedicated to St. Fremund, our Saxon saint whose chantry chapel once stood on the site. Our church is open daily and everyone is welcome.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Cropredy is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Benefice PSO, Sue Upton (tel: 01295 758396), or for the most urgent safeguarding concerns call 01865 208295 during office hours, or email [email protected].
If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
